2 EARLY LIFE Bette was born on March 23, 1924. Bette was born in Dallas Texas. She was raised in San Antonio, Texas. Bette dropped out of high school at the age of 17. She married and moved back to Dallas

3 ABOUT BETTE'S FAMILY Bette had one child named Michael Nesmith. Bette became the famous mother of her musician son Michael, who played with the band “The Monkeys”.

4 ABOUT BETTE'S JOB Bette was good at her work and Bette rose through the ranks at Texas bank and trust anile became executive security to the chairman of the board by 1951. She typed a lot and made mistakes. She made a white paint that would cover her mistakes.

5 WHAT BETTE INVENTED Bette invented liquid paper in 1956. She called it Mistake out Bette’s started a company and it grew to a million dollar business. By 1979 Bette was selling around 25 million bottles a year.

6 INTERESTING DETAILS She started company out of her house In 1975 Bette moved operations to a three thousand five hundred- sq. ft metal shed in her backyard. Bette sold the company to Gillette corporation in 1979 for 47 million.

7 WHAT WOULD BE DIFFERENT IF BETTE HAD NOT LIVED There would not be any liquid paper if Bette was not alive. If there was no liquid paper and if you make a mistake on a piece of paper you would have to start all over.

8 WHEN BETTE DIED Bette died on May 12, 1980. Bette died in Richardson Texas.
