3. 3 Cheaper access to cleaner water with less emissions Water purification POA under validation, first CPA in Uganda, now requesting LOAs from Colombia, Honduras, Peru, Argentina, Haiti, El Salvador

4. 4 International water purification PoA SBs to be key component of POAs, turned out differently SSC-WG meth / EB decisions provided two pull factors into use of this SB-PoA: –Automatic additionality proof for micro projects (appliance below 600 tCO 2 e OR location in LDC), therefore reduced auditor liability for POAs as subjectivity is removed –Standardized baselines (default water consumption 5.5 L/d; suppressed demand) EU ETS provided push factor out of normal CDM projects –Sunset clause of 2012 leaving no other choice than strict standardization SBs allow to register more POAs, and allow growing them quicker as each additional CPA becomes cheaper to add (yet comes a little late to allow for more EU ETS eligible POAs pre-12)
