4 Job Allocations Initial career planning should always inform future choice of posts As a rule of thumb: One central, one peripheral and one “endorsable” post (Rehabilitation, Substance misuse, Liaison) Ensure that the posts that you choose enable you to meet all your GA competencies by the end of 3 year rotation Job descriptions, competency mapping and timetables for each post are available on VLE Choice forms are sent out in early May and allocations are initially made by Chair and Deputy chair of the GA/OA ST training committee An attempt will be made by TPD to ensure that the distribution of ST4-6 is equitable across Trust sites due to increasing resource implications. TPD - final decisions and rubber stamping

5 Work place based assesments Minimum requirement of 12 per annum. Workplace based assessments must comply with the following: They must focus on performance (i.e. what you actually do in the workplace) They must be evidence based Evidence must be triangulated whenever possible (i.e. it must be provided by different assessors, on different occasions, and if possible using different methods) Records must be permanent – assessment forms must not be lost or destroyed (this is achieved by online storage). An acceptable spread (please see college guidance) to include 2 ACEs, 2 mini PATs, CBDs, mini ACE and DONCS, SAPES and assessments of teaching. Please see the college curriculum for guidelines and expectations for ST4/5/6 Assessors should be predominantly clinical supervisors (consultants) and a small number from band 7/8 nursing and social care staff with appropriate WPBA training. Peers cannot be assessors.
