Agenda Overview Descriptive analysis Current plan review Plan that suits the customer Prediction

Overview Current plan – Monthly rental = Rs 299 – Activation date = 22 Sep 2013 – Call rate to local mobile phones – 30 paisa – Call rate to Vodafone users- 30 paisa – Call rate to other landline numbers = 30 paisa – STD call rate to Vodafone numbers, other mobile numbers, other landline numbers =50 paisa – National SMS charges = Rs 1.5 – International SMS charges = Rs 5 The subscriber is a Vodafone user Problem definition- Analyze the current plan and see what more can be done to satisfy the needs of the customer Tools used – Microsoft Excel Preprocessing –Arranged the data available in a proper format to analyze the data properly Analysis is done with the data available to get some insights about the usage pattern of the customer

Descriptive analysis(Peak on and Peak off time for calls made) Peak on time –the time when maximum amount of calls are made = 8-10 PM Peak off time – The time when least number of calls are made = 4-10AM

Data usage The data usage is usually greater between 10AM -2PM and 8-10PM The data usage was found greater for only a certain period of the month i.e.20 th to 23 rd Dec,2013 Total usage in a month = 1921.79 Mb

Current Plan Review Call Tariff: Rs 299 is paid as a tariff to get free call minutes Bill tells you the duration of all calls=351 minutes(335 minutes local + 11 minutes night call and 5 minutes STD) Charges(without tariff) for this plan is 30paise/min for local & night calls and 50paise/min for STD calls So by his usage of 346 minutes for local & night calls is should pay= Rs 104 but he is paying Rs.299 So he is paying a lot more than the actual charge Net Tariff: Currently he is being charged Rs 236 per 1gb data usage so he will be charged Rs 500 for his data usage which fits good with his current plan SMS tariff: He pays a tariff of Rs.50 in which he gets 288 free local messages i.e. nearly 17paise/sms His on peak time of sending sms is in evening so for that particular time he can be charged at 10p/sms and for rest of the time 17p/sms Thus his tariff can be Rs.35/month for free local SMS.

Plan that suits the customer Airtel My Plan would be a very good option for our customer It is a do –it –yourself postpaid plan that will let you use your phone in the same way you want it

Plan that suits the customer(cont’d) Select the rental that you find suitable Select the My packs of your choice

Plan that suits the customer(cont’d) Finally choose some value boosters

Prediction Gender-Male The call duration were less and usually females are prone to talk more compared to male. In fact, women talk almost three times as much as men, with the average woman chalking up 20,000 words in a day - 13,000 more than the average man. Approximate Age-35-45 The duration of the calls is very less and thus he uses only the phone for business purposes People contacted in day is far less than a person of much younger age will do Kind of phone- Smartphone,3G enabled Huge data transfer and usage compared to a normal mobile phone Any other information- Occupation can be a businessman or an executive Data pattern- the kb/s is not used enough in any day as compared to a student. Thus we can predict the person only uses the data pack for not so heavy uses such as downloading but for basic necessities like checking e-mails, social networking or business sites etc. Source - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-419040/Women-talk- times-men-says-study.html
