The ports are fixed at 2, 4, 6, or 8 T1/E1/PRIs  Software upgrades are limited by the hardware configurations required to support the wide range of options. The basic DX2008 is not software upgradeable. It is a fixed configuration that will only support 8 VoIP channels. The DX 2016 is upgradeable to DX2024 or DX2030 The DX 2024 is upgradeable to DX2030 The DX4096 is upgradeable to DX4120
