4 The Unknown  How quality management practices can be used in nonprofit organizations.  The value of implementing quality management practices in nonprofits.  Quality management practices that are the most significant in nonprofits.

5 How the Study is Different  Focuses on nonprofit organizations.  Readers are able to gain new understanding of quality management value in nonprofits.  Defines the most significant quality management practices in nonprofit organizations.

6 Findings Impacting the Field  Lack of change leads to failure.  Implementing quality management practices can eliminate existing and unknown weaknesses.  Lack of implementation reflects lack of understanding.

7 Research Questions  How do nonprofit organizations implement quality management systems?  Which quality management practices are more prevalent in nonprofit organizations?

9 Case Study  Allows for in-depth information and can uses multiple data collection methods.  Focuses on one phenomenon.  Is descriptive, rich and has deep investigations of the phenomenon.

10 Design  Focus on quality management practices within nonprofit organizations in the southeast region of Tennessee.  A multisite case study.  Will follow an outline of similar studies.

12 Sample & Population  Will sample until point of saturation or redundancy is reached.  Executive Directors will be interviewed.  Recruiting will be completed using the snowball technique.

13 Data Collection  Qualitative Case Study Methodology  Use of existing databases to identify potential participants  Relationships will be developed through participation  Participants will give fully informed consent  Semistructured Interviews will be conducted  Interviews will be voice recorded  Field notes will be taken

18 Informed Consent  Subjects will be fully informed  Subjects must give their consent before they enroll  No children or members of a vulnerable population will be interviewed

19 Right to Withdraw  Each research subject has the right to withdraw at any time  Subjects who withdraw will not be further interviewed

20 Avoiding Conflict of Interest  Subject has no connection to Researcher  No financial gains are present  Bias will be avoided by focusing on facts presented by the data collected  Research will be monitored and check for accuracy and objectivity
