4 IWB’s originate from constructivist pedagogies (SMART, 2009) Universal Designs for Learning (UDL) (Rose and Meyer, 2006) “Pupils are universally enthusiastic about interactive white boards because of their clear visibility, the easy access they give to ICT through touch and the added variety they bring to lessons.” (Becta, 2007 :4) Can result in the appearance of more didactic teaching BUT… IF whole class teaching more interactive = reduction in benefits from group work can be negligible (Somekh et al, 2007) USING THE IWB

5 Poor evaluation in ICT primarily due to lack of understanding of progression in ICT (Potter and Darbyshire, 2005) However, we are still obliged to report on progression so should keep records that enable us to: a) Pitch lessons at appropriate levels (AfL) b) Pass on appropriate information to other teachers c) Report to parents(Abbot, 2001) Appears to be no APP leveling tool for ICT ASSESSMENT
