2 Learning Outcomes At the conclusion of today’s presentation, participants will be able to:  Have an understanding of the BeWise peer educator program that is utilized at Syracuse University.  Understand why and how the program was developed.  Recognize the pros and cons to using students for outreach purposes as well as the evolving roles as facilitators.  Identify offices and resources that are contributors to the program’s success.

5 Training, Development, Recruitment  Application process (Spring 2014) Application  Marketing and collaboration with DSA offices and student organizations  The all-day training was adapted from The Bacchus Network’s Certified Peer Educator Training  Training focused on leadership skills, presentation skills, and community involvement

Increased leadership for students Presentation skills Student motivation and involvement Expansion of AOD presentations Students increased number of presentations Students did an excellent job networking with other student organizations and DSA offices Nay!!!
