4 Fitness Assessment Logistics – Test Components Required Fitness Assessments – Height (inches) and Weight (lbs) – Presidential Fitness Tests (Click here for manual) Mile Run (1/4 mile option for 6-7 year olds; ½ mile option for 8-9 year olds) Curl Ups (timed) Push Ups, Pull Ups, or Flexed Arm Hang Sit-and-Reach Shuttle Run (required for National and Presidential)

5 Test Components: Mile Run Measures aerobic (heart and lung) endurance Fastest time to cover 1 mile Optional Modified Runs ¼ mile run (6-7 year olds) ½ mile run (8-9 year olds) ½ mile run (any student with physical limitations) Students with medical or mobility issues may be excused

6 Test Components: Curl-Ups (Timed) Measures core body muscle endurance Maximum number of curl-ups performed in one minute

7 Test Components – Push Ups, Pull Ups, Arm Hang Measures Upper Body Strength Right Angle Push Ups – Recommended for elementary students, or students who cannot complete at least one pull up. Pull Ups – use either grip Flexed Arm Hang – use either grip

8 Test Components: Sit-and-Reach Measures flexibility in lower back and hamstrings

9 Test Components: Shuttle Run (optional) Measures speed and agility Required assessment for National and Presidential Awards Measured to nearest tenth of second

10 ParkwayFIT Logistics: Test Date(s) Expectations for Measuring Fitness – Elementary (grades 1 thru 5) – At least once during the year (spring preferred) – Middle School (grades 6 thru 8) – Pre-test in fall and post- test in spring – High School (9 th grade Fitness Concepts) – Pre-test at start of semester and post-test at end of semester Official Test Date – The date that any of the assessments are first administered. Testing Window – 30 days (All assessments should be completed within 30 days of the first assessment pending any inclement weather).

11 ParkwayFIT Logistics - Awards Health Fitness Award (Required) - Must pass all four health-related fitness assessments National Award (Optional) – Must achieve the National criteria on all four health-related fitness assessments, plus the shuttle run. Presidential Award (Optional) – Must achieve the Presidential criteria on all four health-related fitness assessment, plus the shuttle run. Achievement Award (Optional) – Must show significant improvement (15%ile points or better) on two or more health-related fitness assessments.

14 ParkwayFIT Data Entry – Loggin in to Parkway PATH Must use Internet Explorer browser. Errors may occur and format of screen may vary if using Mozilla Firefox or other browsers. Type https://path.pkwy.k12.mo.us in URL windowhttps://path.pkwy.k12.mo.us Click “ParkwayFit” from list of Parkway Web Applications Use your Novel username and password for each login screen (Must type “pkwy\” before username when connecting to Parkway PATH) See ParkwayFIT Instructional Manual on P.E. page of Parkway Health & P.E. Department website for detailed instructions.

16 ParkwayFIT Data Entry – Quick Data Entry Click “Quick Data Entry” button at top and center of screen Check the box next to student’s name of scores you wish to enter or click “Update All” button for all students. Use menu on left of screen to select the tests you want to input. Click save

17 ParkwayFIT Data Entry – Quick Data Entry Leave text field blank if student did not take the test Remember that you can only choose one test for the upper body strength assessment Click “Export to Excel” button to print a clipboard-ready spreadsheet with class roster, assessments, and scores.

19 Viewing & Printing Reports – Class Summary (Slide #1) Select a report by clicking on drop-down menu and choosing “Class Summary and Awards”

20 Viewing & Printing Reports – Class Summary (Slide #2) Select school year, school, PE teacher, and course Click view report

21 Viewing & Printing Reports – Class Summary (Slide #3) Export to PDF or Excel document by selecting export drop-down menu window for easier viewing and printing

22 Viewing & Printing Reports – Student Summary (Slide #1) Click “Select a Report” drop-down menu and choose Student Summary option

23 Viewing & Printing Reports – Student Summary (Slide #2) To view and print, click export drop-down menu and choose “PDF” format

24 Viewing & Printing Reports – Student Awards (Slide #1) Click “Select a Report” drop-down menu and choose Fitness Award Certificate option

25 Viewing & Printing Reports – Student Awards (Slide #2) Select school year, PE teacher, course, and students (Only students who met the award criteria will be listed in drop down menu) Select PDF from Export drop-down menu to format and print.

26 Viewing & Printing Reports – PARS (Slide #1) Click blue hypertext to exit ParkwayFit and enter PARS. Note: You can also enter PARS by clicking the link on the Parkway PATH links page. Enter Novell pkwy\username and password.

27 Viewing & Printing Reports – PARS (Slide #2) Open Physical Fitness Reports folder.

28 Viewing & Printing Reports – PARS (Slide #3) Click on the link of your choice.

29 Viewing & Printing Reports – PARS (Slide #4) Print a one-page student summary by clicking the Consolidated Student Summary file. Print student award certificates by clicking any Fitness Award Certificate. View graphs of fitness achievement versus academic achievement in Stanford and MAP comparison files. Analyze subgroup scores in Subgroup Graphs file.
