3. Announcements/Reminders If you turned in a notebook, pick it up from my desk at this time. If you have not turned in your notebook yet, the deadline is Friday, Feb. 3 rd. If you were absent on test day last week, you need to pick up a test at this time.

4. If you have not done so yet, answer the following question. Do you think that Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites are beneficial or harmful to personal relationships? Why?

5. Social Networking Debate First of all, I need three people who are undecided about this topic to come to the front of the class. Now, if you believe that Facebook and other social networking sites are beneficial to relationships, move to the left side of the room. If you believe that Facebook and other social networking sites are harmful to relationships, move to the right side of the room.

6. Social Networking Debate I’m going to give each side 5-10 minutes to list out and prepare their arguments to present to our three judges.

7. Social Networking Debate Debate instructions: Each side will present their main argument to the opposing side and judges. While one side is presenting their case, the opposing side should be taking notes and looking for mistakes and weaknesses in that side’s argument.

8. Social Networking Debate Debate instructions: After each side has presented, both will be allowed to rebuttal. As a debate ensues, each group will receive points based on solid arguments. At the end a winner of the debate will be declared based on the amount of solid arguments presented.
