2 yhlc.yale.edu/CaseCompetition Case Competition Teams of Yale graduate/professional students and post-doctoral fellows work together to solve a finance- and/or marketing-based biotech/ pharmaceutical case Present solution to a panel of academic and industry judges. The winning team receives a prize at the reception following the competition, during which all participants and judges relax, discuss the case, and network.

Time slots are randomly assigned and communicated Noon, November 18th November 19, 5-7pmAwards reception. Location TBD.

5 http://yhlc.yale.edu/CaseCompetitionyhlc.yale.edu/CaseCompetition How to Register Go to yhlc.yale.edu/CaseCompetition Go down to “Registration” section, click on either “TEAM REGISTRATION FORM” or “INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION FORM” Teams are to be between 2-6 people, and should be a good mix of students from different schools (We may rearrange teams to meet this objective) Fill out survey DO IT BY FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 5 th

6 http://yhlc.yale.edu/CaseCompetitionyhlc.yale.edu/CaseCompetition Presentations and Judging PowerPoint presentation of up to 10 slides – Up to 5 appendix slides for questions At least 2 team members must present 10 minutes for presentation, followed by up to 10 minutes of Q&A from judges Judges panel will include scientists, marketers, and consultants

Leverage everyone’s strengths Read the case carefully Recommendations should be both quantitative & qualitative State (& justify) your assumptions clearly Content counts, but so does presentation Be prepared for questions
