Intercultural Garden „Bruno Kreisky House“ There is gardening in the courtyard of the Bruno Kreisky House, a home for asylum seekers in Floridsdorf, since spring 2009. Raised beds and flowerbeds were built there. The beds are managed by families, individuals and children. Now a wall greening is planned with edible climbing plants. Die Grünen Floridsdorf, Gabriele Tupy 12.10.2013

Intercultural neighbourhood garden Roda-Roda-Gasse The first intercultural neighbourhood garden in a “Gemeindebau” (council flat estate) in Vienna-Strebersdorf started in 2009. People built the garden and share it. The Aim is to produce a free space for intercultural dialogue and collaborative work: When working with soil and plants, new roots in a foreign land can grow. Die Grünen Floridsdorf, Gabriele Tupy 12.10.2013

Community garden refugee camp Winkeläckerweg In the refugee camp Winkeläckerweg about 150 people live, mainly families with their children. The conditions in the home are very cramped. Around the refugee camp there is a 2,000 m² green area, 500 m² are used as a community garden since spring 2010. A part is reserved for children. The children won the 2010 "Junior City Farming“ award. Die Grünen Floridsdorf, Gabriele Tupy 12.10.2013

Mobile neighborhood garden Adolf-Loos-Gasse On the initiative of a resident, the idea of a little garden for children arose in 2009, later it became a neighborhood garden. With the support of the “Gartenpolylog” association, five mobile beds were built up in July 2011. The residents were accompanied for 10 weeks with professional support and advice. 12 Self-harvesting project eco-harvest land In 2011, the Central Association of the garden plot holders established (on a total area of 15,000 m²) the eco-harvest land, a self-harvesting project south of Gerasdorfer Strasse. 128 people can manage a bit of green here. The plots have a size of about 115 m² and are partly planted with vegetables and berry bushes (one season at a price of € 200, -) Die Grünen Floridsdorf, Gabriele Tupy 12.10.2013

Unused farmland occupied In 2012 and 2013, the initiative „Solidary Agriculture“ (abbreviation: SoliLa!) occupied some farm land in Floridsdorf, which was not cultivated or used in another way for years. The occupiers criticized that it is absurd in times of „peak oil“ and „peak soil“ to use fertile land for building purposes and required food sovereignty.
