Ask the delivery driver to place the shipment cases inside the area marked for “unopened cases.” Then move the large carts into the marked areas. Place two cases (atop each other) on the floor to create a work surface you can reach comfortably without much bending. Always wear a back belt and use proper lifting techniques. While breaking down shipment, wear the apron to keep your clothes clean. The apron pocket is also a convenient place to keep track of the box cutter, which will save time. Remove the apron before you return to the sales floor.

Then sync the scanner so it’s ready to go with the updated information. Open the top case with your box cutter and begin removing the shoe boxes, sorting them on to the large cart by gender and by size, with the barcodes facing out. Keep the box cutter in your apron pocket when you’re not using it, to avoid misplacing it and wasting time. Place an empty case near your work area. This is where you will put the empty cardboard boxes. Continue until all cases are sorted. Place any accessory cases to the side to be worked on later.

If you are a sensor tag store, insert the sensor tag pin in the left shoe. Return the quick cleaned shoes to the box vamped, as shown here. Please be sure to only quick clean each box of shoes. On-Screen Text: Move the small cart to a back end panel on the sales floor Watch for Customers while you work Voiceover In a single coverage store, load a small cart with selected gender and sizes and position the loaded cart at a back end panel on the sales floor. This way you can watch for customers while you work. Continue with the rest of the cleaning process on the sales floor. For stores with double coverage, however, processing in the backroom is faster than processing on the sales floor.

11 CBL Page 11 Image/Video: Video – Lee using scanner and tagging. On-Screen Text: Verify that your scanner is synced properly by checking the sync date at the bottom of the screen. Use the Backroom Scan function to identify: Rack representation Shoes for promo tagging New shoes Voiceover Confirm that your batch scanner has been synced, then organize the tagging laptop and place it on top of the small cart. Using the backroom scan function on your batch scanner, begin scanning the barcode on each box to identify shoes for promo tagging and lots not currently represented in the racks. If the scanner identifies a shoe as “on promotion,” choose the appropriate price tag from the tagging laptop and attach it to the box. If the scanner identifies an unrepresented lot, pull the box forward slightly so you can easily identify it as a high priority to work into the racks. Do not place rack rep tags on boxes until you have run the shoes and are ready to place excess lots in topstock.

12 CBL Page 12 Image/Video: Video Moving small cart to racks, rack rep. On-Screen Text: If you have an unrepresented shoe that will not fit in the racks, place a rack rep flag on the front of the box lid and put the box in topstock Think ahead when running shoes into the rack. Avoid multiple touches of the same shoe when working the rack plan Voiceover Move your small cart to the racks according to the size and gender of shoes on the cart. Fill empty spaces in the racks with new and unrepresented shoes first. If you have an unrepresented shoe that will not fit into the racks, stick a rack rep flag on the right side of the box lid and place the box in topstock. This will make it easier to choose which shoes to use first when refilling the racks as spaces open up.

13 CBL Page 13 Image/Video: Accessory Video On-Screen Text: You will have 2 sets of accessory bins labeled for: AC1 and Shoe Care Women’s and Men’s Hosiery Kids’ Accessories Handbags and VIA Wall Voiceover To process a new accessory shipment, prepare your cart in the backroom by placing four empty accessory bins on the lower shelves of the small cart. You will have two sets of accessory bins. One set will be used for processing shipment and the other will be used to store extra accessories that will not fit on racks. These bins will be used for fixture replenishment on a non- shipment day.

14 CBL Page 14 Image/Video: Accessory Video On-Screen Text: Put an empty bin on the top shelf of your cart for trash Sort the accessories into the labeled bins, still in their packaging Video Put an empty bin on one side of the top shelf to use for trash, and place the accessory case to be sorted next to it. Open the case and sort the product, placing each one into its proper bin, leaving all products in their packaging.

15 CBL Page 15 Image/Video: Accessory Video On-Screen Text: Move your cart to the fixture to minimize walking and reaching Place each item on the fixture according to the current InfoSource Voiceover To run the accessories to the sales floor, move your cart next to the first fixture to be filled, to minimize walking and reaching. Fill the fixture, then move your cart to the next fixture and continue the process. When you have replenished all the fixtures, return the cart and labeled bins to the stockroom, and empty the trash bin into a garbage bag.
