12 Informatics Engineering DegreeBachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering Duration4 years AnnotationThe holder of Bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering is able to create, project, and install computer systems and evaluate them; integrate computer systems while performing various counting tasks; effectively apply technical means and software for automatic constructing and documentation; qualitatively exploit technical systems and software; knows and understands basic principles of informatics engineering. Moreover, graduates are capable of using the latest information technologies, understand the basic factors of business environment - marketing, finances and evaluation of investment; have communicative, logical and systemic thinking, formalizing, working in a team and other transferable skills. Access to the second cycle studies. The qualification of Bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering is required for such positions as system projecting, exploiting and development specialist, as well as, for the work such as installing computer networks, administering and improving them.

Undergraduates are free to choose one of the specializations provided meeting their personal needs. 16 English Philology and other foreign language (Spanish, French, German) DegreeBachelor’s Degree of Philology Duration4 years AnnotationMA English Philology and other foreign language is designed to prepare qualified and universally educated specialists of a foreign language meeting the standards of informational society who would apply their knowledge, skills and competences in activities and spheres related to foreign languages. The continuation of studies is possible taking MA. The holders of Bachelor’s degree of Philology are may work in the institutions of culture, education, publishing, media and other spheres where the knowledge of English and other foreign language (Spanish, German) is required together with philological education. They may work as researches, translators/interpreters, referents, spokesman/spokeswoman, export/import representatives of foreign or Lithuanian companies, employees of international institutions, correctors, and if graduated from special didactic professional studies – teachers of English and other foreign language (Spanish, German).

17 Signal Processing DegreeMaster’s degree of Robotics and Cybernetics Duration2 years AnnotationDuring these studies the students deepen their knowledge about digital electronics in the field of technologies, they analyse the ways of analysis of words, image and biomedical signal analysis and their archiving, multimodal correlation among human beings and computers. The programme is designed to qualify specialist capable of creating and installing digital mechanisms, to work in small business organizations creating intellectual products, and to professionally conduct scientific researches, and to prepare for PhD studies in the field of electrical engineering and the studies of electronics. The postgraduates gain knowledge about signal registration, methods of signal processing and usage, they gain professional competence to create hardware and software of signal processing, to use the latest technologies, are capable of deepening their knowledge independently and apply it with no help in new conditions, to formulate scientific issues and to solve them.

18 Electrical Power DegreeMaster’s degree of Electrical Power Duration2 years Annotation The aim of the Master’s degree study programme in Electrical Power is to prepare highly qualified specialists of electrical industry, capable of working as energetics’ specialists at companies of electric power transmission and distribution as well as at industrial companies of different profile and as a projector of the electrical sector, as a lecturer at higher education institutions, as a scientific research worker as well as to continue studies in Doctoral studies. The postgraduates gain innovative knowledge about electrical power management, the strategy of its development, a rational usage of electrical power, renewable energy sources, the ability to use traditional informational resources analysing certain situations, to learn independently, to conduct a scientific research and to put it into practice.

A holder of Master’s degree in Computer Science has theoretical and practical skills of system analysis and synthesis; moreover, he/she understands modern computers and their nets’ architecture, is able to operate the latest programming technologies, means of data modelling, data output and analysis. Furthermore, he/she is capable of designing multimedia and network systems, ensuring their safety. The acquired qualification enables to install complex systems, manage the projects, provides a possibility for scientific as well as for the highly qualified career. The acquired Master’s qualification of Computer Science gives a possibility to work in establishments of scientific research, institutions of higher education, information technologies’ departments of firms, banks and companies, Lithuanian and foreign firms of information technologies.

22 Management (Specialisation: Tourism Management, Public Administration) DegreeMaster’s degree of Management Duration2 years Annotation The entrants of MA Management are supposed to possess a Bachelor‘s degree (or a corresponding) and to have acquired fundamental subjects of Management field of study: microeconomics, macroeconomics, management, marketing. Additional studies are required if these subjects have not been acquired. The study programme is designed to prepare researchers, counsellors, and high qualification managers of business enterprises, organizations or their departments. MA Management students will gain competences needed for effective decision-making in business strategy, finance management, business environment prognosis, and other spheres. The postgraduates are free to study following basic study programme or to choose a specialization. The masters of Management with specialization are able to work in public sector as managers of business enterprises or their departments, they serve as important persons in governmental institutions, establish their business, work as specialists of finance management. The students are taught to conduct applied researches, to get ready for professional work or to continue their studies in the third cycle – PhD studies.

23 Intercultural Education and Mediation DegreeMaster’s Degree of Education Duration2 years AnnotationThe Master’s degree study program of Intercultural Education and Mediation is designed for educating the intercultural competences in different educational contexts: in educational institutions for children, youth and adults, in institutions for the leisure time, in spheres of the socialization for the adults. 27 Additional Courses Preparatory Coursesfor foreign applicants in order to prepare them for International studies at Siauliai University: DurationOne semester. Organised only in Spring semester. They are organised only for those students who are planning to study full Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme from autumn semester. 29 Legalisation of Educational Documents Educational documents should be legalised by: The Ministry of the Foreign Affairs or the diplomatic mission or consular post of the country where education was received The Lithuanian diplomatic mission or consular post in the country where education was received or in the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. 30 Other Fees  Application fee: EUR 95 non- refundable application fee. The fee must accompany the application. The fee can be paid with a Bank draft (international cheque) to Siauliai University.  Refund policy for International Students Fees: If a student's visa application is refused, a full refund of fees will be made (except 95 EUR application fee). Evidence of refusal is required.

31 Immigration Regulations Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) of the Republic of Lithuania will be issued for one academic year. International Relations Office provides all necessary documents. The student has to apply to the nearest Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania for TRP. The person is provided with a short-term visa by the above-mentioned institution as soon as the Migration Department in Lithuania confirms his/her application for TRP (the revision of the documents may take more than 2 months). The TRP card can be obtained only upon arrival in the host country within 7 days. The TRP allows up to one-year stay in Lithuania, and have to be renewed before 2 months student's visa expires. The procedure of the temporary residence permit includes a compulsory medical health insurance (min. 20 000 Lt, aprox. 6000 EUR). 32 Living and Studying Accommodation: - Šiauliai University has students dormitory - Rooms: single and double - The price for 1 person per 1 month: 70 EUR - Internet access in the room: 30 EUR per semester Medical service: Šiauliai University students can use medical service, offered by the University Medical Center as well as private providers. ! The fees may change.

33 Living and Studying Šiauliai University students have many sources of learning, entertainment, cultural and leisure activities. Moreover, they successfully compete in basketball, handball, soccer, rugby and other competitions. The University has its own Gallery, Botanical Garden, Educational Theatre, TV and Radio.
