CONTENT: GRADE 2 – MATH MEASUREMENT TOPIC: OPERATIONS AND ALGEBRAIC THINKING PROFICIENCY STATEMENT: A student has demonstrated proficiency by (Understanding ) understanding the relationship between addition and subtraction; ( Computing ) fluently adding and subtracting within 20; (Applying) using addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one and two-step word problems; (Reasoning) using mental strategies to add and subtract within 20. Explaining and justifying a solution to a problem or extending from something known to something not yet known; (Engaging) seeing math as sensible, useful, and do-able – if you work at it – and being willing to do the work.

Be proud of your accomplishments, and apologize when you make a mistake. You cannot blame someone else for what you do.
