3 Course Registration Period We will conduct the registration process at GHS 2/23/15-3/6/15 Forms given to students – 2/23/2015 Forms returned to GHS – 2/27/2015 9 th and 10 th grade return forms to Social Studies Teachers 11 th grade return forms to Math Teachers Registration with counselors – 3/2/2015-3/6/2015 Freshman Academy students will choose a pathway to follow Current sophomores and juniors will continue on their current pathways

4 New Schedule For the 2015-16 school year, Griffin High School will operate on a 4x4 block schedule You will have 4 classes each semester Semester 1: August-December Semester 2: January-May Classes will last approximately 105 minutes

5 Choosing a Pathway Freshmen will choose a pathway to follow for the remainder of their high school careers Be sure to include your parents in the process Please note that we try to match each person to their chosen pathway, but due to spacing some pathways will be limited.

6 CTAE Pathways Construction- Carpentry, Electrical, Masonry, or Plumbing Audio-Video Technology and Film Business and Technology Culinary Arts JROTC Health Occupations- Emergency Medical Responder, Patient Care, or Pharmacy Information Technology- Computer Science, Programming, Web & Digital Design Engineering & Technology

7 Fine Arts Pathways Music – Band or Chorus Theatre Arts Visual Arts

8 AP Courses We offer 11 Advanced Placement courses. Some classes will be taken for a semester and others will be taken over the entire school year. Once an AP course has been requested with the appropriate signatures, it can not be dropped!

9 Dual Enrollment Courses Juniors and seniors may take dual enrollment courses. Students must meet certain criteria and adhere to specific deadlines in order to be eligible. Please see Mr. Kelly for more details. You may take academic (ex. English or Math) or technical (Cosmetology) classes. New dual enrollment offerings: Automotive Mechanics Cosmetology Criminal Justice Early Childhood Education The Humanities Psychology Sociology Speech

10 Registration Process Registration will be begin 3/2/15-3/6/15 9 th and 10 th Grade- Social Studies Teachers 11 th Grade- Math Teachers Registration will be conducted online! Please try to access your Infinite Campus account prior to Winter Break! Everyone will receive an Elective Course Registration Form You must circle 5 electives you would like to take. Please be sure to circle the correct sequential class for the pathways. They are numbered in the correct order on the forms. Students currently on a chosen pathway should sign up for the next sequential course Ex. Healthcare Science – Patient Care Pathway Level 1 – Intro to Healthcare Science Level 2 – Essentials of Healthcare Level 3 – Patient Care Fundamentals

15 Online Registration Process You will need your Infinite Campus login to register! Your designated teachers will bring you to the Media Center to register. Counselors will guide the registration process. You will use your Elective Course Registration form to help you choose your classes in Infinite Campus. After you have chosen your classes, you must print a copy of course registration for your school counselor. *No student will be allowed to register for any AP or Dual Enrollment courses without the appropriate signatures.

16 Important Information Infinite Campus log-in information: username: Student ID (no zeros) password: campus2015 If this doesn’t work you will have to lock your account and it will be reset that evening to campus2015 Students who took AP Human Geography as freshmen must take AP U.S. Government and Politics during their 11 th or 12 th grade year. If you would like to take a certain class for the entire year, then you must sign up for two of the same class. Ex. Student wants to take Chorus for the entire school year. Student must register for Beginning Chorus I and Beginning Chorus II
