MENU PAGE Solar Power Wind Power Wave Power Hydro-electric power Final conclusion

Advantage: Solar energy is a completely renewable resource. This means that even when we cannot make use of the sun’s power because of night time or cloudy and stormy days, we can always rely on the sun showing up the very next day as a constant and consistent power source. Disadvantage: The Solar Cells and Solar Panels that are needed to harness solar energy tend to be very expensive when you first purchase them. SOLAR POWER

Advantages: Wind is a renewable energy resource and there are no fuel costs. No harmful polluting gases are produced. Disadvantages: Wind farms are noisy and may spoil the view for people living near them. The amount of electricity generated depends on the strength of the wind - if there is no wind, there is no electricity. WIND POWER

Advantages: Ideal for an island such as the UK. Potential to generate a lot of energy. Tidal barrage can double as a bridge, and help prevent flooding. Disadvantages: Construction of barrage is very costly. Opposed by some environmental groups as having a negative impact on wildlife. May reduce tidal flow and impede flow of sewage out to sea. WAVE POWER

Advantages: Creates water reserves as well as energy supplies. Disadvantages: Costly to build. Can cause the flooding of surrounding communities and landscapes. Dams have major ecological impacts on local hydrology. HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER

I would use hydro-electric power because it produces a lot of energy and on the other hand I would use solar power because it has lots of positives as well. FINAL CONCLUSION
