I want to thank everyone who donated towards our Support a Military Member Challenge. I wish I had room to put everyone’s name in the bulletin. I also want to pass on a huge “Thank you” from our troops who joined us on Thanksgiving Day. Due to your generosity we met our goal of 40 Memberships. We had a short ceremony to present each of our guests with their new membership card and to welcome them into our American Legion family. We sincerely hope that they will carry this with them throughout their military career and beyond. They were all very grateful to be given this gift of membership. For God and Country Marsha Martin Commander’s Corner I would like to thank Marsha Martin and Mike Munoz for taking the lead on the Thanksgiving Dinner last month. It was a great success and the Post benefited by feeding our single members and thanks also to the generosity of our members, we fed 40 of our Active Duty Personnel stationed at NAS. Please support the Ladies of Unit 240 when they put up their Christmas Angel Tree. Remember they are raising money for Christmas presents for some of our needy families in the area. We will have our Christmas Dinner on the 25th at 1200. I will be putting up a sign up sheet for volunteers to make their favorite food for our Post Christmas Dinner. This dinner is for everyone who wants to share Christmas with someone. Please contact me if you would like to help. Elections were held for one new Executive Committeemen. Congratulations to Bill Eastman on his election. Finally, the 1st District Meeting is on December 4, 2010 at Post 382 in Navarre. Please attend if you can. For God and Country Jimmy lee Martin Auxiliary President – Membership renewals have gone out; please send in your renewal now so that we may reach our goal of 75% by Jan. 15, 2011 and we are currently at 69%. We hope to see you at our next meeting on December 14th at 6:30PM. Our Halloween Party for the Children was a huge success; we had 24 children attend from 14 months to 10 years of age along with the moms, dads and a few grandparents. Thank you so much for coming to our party; it was a fun time… Also a big thank you to all the ladies who donated all of the good eats that were enjoyed by the children! The Auxiliary will be hosting a Christmas Party for the Children on Dec. 11th at 1pm and Santa will be there along with his helpers to pass out candy and gifts. There will be a sign-up sheet in the lounge so that you may put the names of the children who will be attending, their gender and age. You MUST be on the sign-up sheet to attend the party so that we will have the proper gifts and food. Also in the lounge will be a sign-up sheet for the Angel Tree gifts. If you know of a family in need please get the information on the sign-up sheet so that we may be able to help them. For God and Country Mary Taffaro, President 3 rd Vice Commander - Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our November fish fry. Extending the fish fry to November has been well received and the number of meals sold reflects your interest. The next fish fry will be Dec 5 th and your cooking staff looks forward to providing another good meal. We will not have a fish fry in the month of January due to the holidays and family’s requirements. Look forward to seeing you at the December fish fry. Serving starts at 2:00 until fish is gone. For God and Country Jake Taffaro Bingo Chairman - Turned over $2000.00 to the Post from the Bingo. We need more Callers and helpers so we won’t overload the volunteers. For God and Country, Jimmy Lee Martin
