ADAMS there are six types of conceptual blocks which interfere in our ability to explore and manipulate ideas i.e. to be creative

Conceptual blocks to creative EMOTIONAL BLOCKS: Fear of making decision Failing or taking Risks Too much need for security Order and Structure Preference for judging rather then generating ideas Impatience

2.PERCEPTUAL BLOCK These blocks prevent the person from clearly perceiving either the problem or info vital to solve the problem Too many people spend time to define the problem Spend and waste time in order to get on with the important part of solving it

3.Culture Blocks taboo Tradition Excessive belief in logic, reason, numbers Distrust Of fantasy, intuition and different drummers Behaving as one is “suppose to”

4. Environmental Block Distracting emails and chatty colleagues. Lack of co-operations from co-workers Autocratic bosses or Bureaucracy Only time management skills can overcome this block

5. Intellectual Block Understanding of concepts necessary for a problem Lacks experience, academic training or mental abilities. Managers promoted from rank of workers may find themselves in problem with technology Manager then might fear in taking risk because of fear of losing control
