20. Australian Multicultural Advisory Council Council officially launched by the Minister in December 2008. Re- appointed for its 2 nd term in June 2010 ‘Its second-term priorities include providing the government with advice on how best to support migrant settlement in rural and regional locations, and areas with employment opportunities". Statement on cultural diversity policy – The People of Australia. Qld member-Gail Ker Provides independent advice to the Minister and Parliamentary Secretary regarding: –social cohesion issues relating to Australia’s cultural and religious diversity –overcoming intolerance and racism in Australia –communicating the social and economic benefits of Australia’s cultural diversity to the broad community –issues relating to the social and civic participation of migrants in Australian society.
