2 THE STRATEGIC PLAN OF RIMINI In 2008, Rimini began a twenty-year process of strategic planning with the aim of defining, in a participated and shared manner, the vision, objectives and actions needed for the future development of the city. The pillars on which the process is founded are: In 2013 the Rimini Strategic Plan Agency was born and was appointed to carry out the projects defined by the Promotor Committee along with the Forum Rimini Venture Association. 3 THE STRATEGIC PLAN OF RIMINI Through the Strategic Plan, the city discussed how to improve the quality of life and social content of its citizens (whether permanent or temporary), how to consolidate its attractions and competitiveness and on what role it could play along with its territory on the international scene. 4 THE VISION: PEOPLE AS THE FOCUS OF DEVELOPMENT On 2009, the Rimini Venture Forum approved the basic document of the Strategic Plan that defines the visions and great intervention objectives. This is the result of an initial work phase that involved about 300 people (members of the association, public administrators, service companies and functionaries, experts, etc.) divided into 8 work groups for more than 100 meetings and 44 days’ work. On 2010 the document was discussed by the community of Rimini and was then subjected to the approval of the institutional bodies which make up the Promotor Committee. Event Name CONTENT

5 THE MISSION AND GREAT INTERVENTION FIELDS: RIMINI, LAND OF MEETINGS AND RELATIONS Above all, with people and between people and then… the creation of networks, reorganization and re-joining, new territorial balance, new challenges, new alliances, new spaces and relational opportunities, welcoming atmospheres and harmonious and balanced lifestyles, exchanges with new markets, with the most advanced skills and know- how, with centres of creativity and innovation, with innovative and courageous companies, with new talents… Event Name CONTENT

6 THE MISSION AND GREAT INTERVENTION FIELDS: RIMINI, LAND OF MEETINGS AND RELATIONS The 5 main areas of intervention and governance: 1.a new relationship with the sea 2. the great challenge of mobility 3. a business system based on people and innovation (a territory that attracts people, businesses and innovation) 4. the quality of a reorganized and cohesive territory 5. the culture that forms and informs people, creating a new image (against the image that homologates culture). 7 A MODERN LOCAL WELFARE SYSTEM On 2011 we carried out a strategic plan dedicated to welfare issues. The strategies and objectives of the city aimed at developing a diffused quality in interpersonal relations are based on an articulated local welfare system that ensures citizens are not left behind, developing their skills through social reintegration and reintegration into the workplace. This wide-spread attention of the community to the problems of others has historically created in Rimini a fertile environment for the growth and inclusion of large centres of solidarity. As well as a considerable number of voluntary lay and catholic associations, some of which are attending at this meeting. Event Name CONTENT

8 FROM THE WELFARE STATE TO A WELFARE COMMUNITY In the frame of the Strategic Plan of Welfare we are working on 4 issues: -Empowerment (employment problems) -Families and work-life balance -Social cohesion (poverty, immigration, etc.) -Housing and urban spaces of life Event Name CONTENT

9 WHAT ABOUT HOUSING? The work group which worked on housing and urban spaces of life asked for a possibile work track to cope with this issue: The expectation is to work on: A map of the needs of the territory A map of the current offers A map of the tools and funds available In particular, the group considers really helpful a map of the different needs of people who can’t find a house in the current market: young people, students, poors and new «grey» poors, homeless (housing first).
