7 Kentucky Teaching Conditions Standards Standard 1: Time Schools protect teachers’ time to plan, collaborate and provide effective instruction. Standard 2: Facilities and Resources Facilities and resources are provided for teachers to deliver quality instruction. Standard 3: Community Engagement and Support Parents, guardians and community members are engaged in substantive ways to support and influence the school. Standard 4: Managing Student Conduct Schools implement policies and practice to address student conduct issues and to ensure a safe school environment.

8 Kentucky Teaching Conditions Standards Standard 5: Teacher Leadership Teachers are involved in decisions that impact classroom and school practices. Standard 6: School Leadership School leaders maintain trusting, supportive environments that advance teaching and learning. Standard 7: Professional Learning Quality learning opportunities are available for teachers to enhance teaching and learning. Standard 8: Instructional Practices and Support Schools provide support for data analysis and teachers’ collaboration to improve teaching and learning.

15 Each district should meet with their district evaluation team and appropriate personnel responsible for this work Districts: 174 districts participating (a minimum of 10% of the schools within the district) Teachers per participating school: – ELA 1-2 – Math 1-2 – ELL/SWD 1-2 – Non-Assessed 2-3 15 Statewide Expectations 2012-13

16 System developed with the guidance of Dr. James Stronge to collect and present data to document performance based on well-defined job expectations Principals in PGES Field test invited to participate in the Val- Ed survey in Spring of 2012. Principals received results in Fall of 2012 and invited to continue participation in 2012-13 Principal Effectiveness Pilot Training for principals and their evaluators occur in November. 16 Principal Professional Growth & Effectiveness System
