2. Guided Reading The DRA is administered in December and June. Groups are formed by Guided Reading Level AA, A, 2,4 etc. Guided Reading is conducted in the classroom by the classroom teacher and teacher assistant. Many reading strategies are taught to the children throughout the Guided Reading lesson. Some will include; reading with expression, repetitive patterns, multisyllabic, compound words and character development. Guided Reading books are sent home during the week with strategies to practice. Guided Reading groups range from 2-6 children.

3. Guided Reading Please send back the Guided Reading books per your classroom teachers instructions. You can contact your classroom teacher to find out your child’s “Just Right” Guided Reading level. The children will be reading Fiction and Non-Fiction books. Ranging from Science, Social Studies and Informational Books. Happy Reading with your child!
