6 Numeracy Check trainees have an understanding of 4 basic operations and units of measurement relevant to workplace training Teach trainees how to use calculators Assist trainees to know situations in which estimation skills are appropriate Demonstrate accurate use measuring equipment: calculators, gauges, thermometers. Check trainees understand language of numeracy Be consistent with terms used but explain connections between terms when new term is introduced.
