6  Theodore Roosevelt had many strengths and few weaknesses, so he was considered a great president. He had amazing military skills and pretty good political skills. The only thing that brought him down was his personal life especially on February 14 th when his mother and his wife died on the same day. Although life was throwing many obstacles at him he always dodged them and came out stronger every time. Teddy had tried to be Vice President before, but McKinley said he hadn't proved himself enough. So McKinley felt bad and decided to give him a job, and if he was able to finish he would promote him to Vice President. McKinley sent him to be the Lieutenant Colonel of the Rough Riders. Teddy did what McKinley asked and during the next election Theodore Roosevelt became Vice President. Soon after he became VP he had to take on an even bigger role, which was becoming president. Although he became president unexpectedly, he fulfilled that job to his very best which is all America asked for. Teddy’s Strengths and Weaknesses
