2 About… About 80 students a year are accepted 2009 – 2010 academic year for the DVM program is $39,426 Located in a New England setting in North Grafton, Massachusetts, about an hour west of Boston. The 585-acre campus—the site of the former Grafton State Hospital—includes three teaching hospitals which, combined, treat more than 28,000 cases each year: The Hospital for Large Animals The Foster Hospital for Small Animals Tuft’s Wildlife Clinic

3 Programs International and Wildlife course programs Laboratory Animal Medicine Program Animals and Public Policy Program The Center for Animals and Public Policy (CAPP) advances research and education pertaining to the important roles animals play in society, and explores the ethical implications of the human-animal relationship. Conservation Medicine Program

4 DVM Program Students in the DVM program are required to complete a professional curriculum consisting of four academic years, and one summer period of full-time clinical training between the last two years. Each of the four academic years of study toward the DVM degree is approximately thirty- eight weeks. DVM applicants must have completed the equivalent of at least three full undergraduate academic years at an accredited college or university and fulfilled 90 semester hours of course work before enrollment.

5 Required Courses General Biology with laboratory (two semesters) General Chemistry with laboratory (two semesters) Organic Chemistry with laboratory (two semesters) Physics (two semesters) Genetics (one semester, unless included in General Biology) Biochemistry (one semester) Mathematics (two semesters) English (two semesters) Social and Behavioral Sciences (two semesters) Humanities and Fine Arts (two semesters) Recommended Courses: cell biology, microbiology, physiology, comparative or developmental anatomy.

6 Early Acceptance The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine also offers undergraduates in their sophomore year the chance to apply to the Cummings School with the Bachelor's/DVM Early Acceptance Program.Bachelor's/DVM Early Acceptance Program Maintain a minimum of a 3.40 cumulative grade point average in their undergraduate program calculated at the end of each academic year. Complete the remaining DVM Prerequisite Courses.DVM Prerequisite Courses Complete their bachelor's degree. Confirm their desire to enroll at the Cummings School no later than April 15 of their senior year.

7 Application Process Application is online, 70 dollar app fee, send in academic transcripts, GRE scores, applicant must be able to perform the functions in DVM Essential Functions, Veterinary, Animal and or Health Science Experience, three Letters of Evaluation, Extracurricular Activities, two 500 word Essays
