3 What is excess? Excess - property that is in excess of the amounts needed to complete current and/or projected taskings, projects or programs, “excess” is synonymous with “surplus.”

40 Recommended Procedure

41  Screen internally for reuse.  Determine best fit donee for item(s).  Obtain letter from Donee (if first time donating to that organization).  Arrange site visit to determine if item is usable by organization.

42  Arrange pick up time.  Arrange internal help if needed.  Create pick up documentation.  Have Donee and non-property employee witness donation and sign documentation.
