4 Reduce 1) Find the factors of 25 and 40 25 40 1 x 25 5 x 5 1 x 40 2 x 20 4 x 10 5 x 8 25 40 3) Divide the top and bottom of the fraction by the GCF  5 = 5 8 This fraction is now reduced to lowest terms. 2) Pick the largest number (factor) that is in both lists. This is called the (GCF) or GREATEST COMMON FACTOR GCF = 5
