Ancient Egyptian bread and modern day bread

In Ancient Egypt the first part of making bread was the ploughing process. The Egyptians used a donkey and a wooden plough to turn over the soil ready to sew the seeds. Ploughing the soil The same procedure is used in our time but different equipment. instead of a donkey we use a tractor and the plough is metal rather than wooden. Modern day Ancient Egypt

The Ancient Egyptian sewing method uses a flock of sheep and a farmer. The farmer scatters seeds behind him and the sheep trample on the seeds which presses them into the soil. Sewing the seeds The modern day procedure is different but the sewing is still the same. Modern day is simpler because machinery is used. A fertilizer spreader is used to spread seeds, then we reverse the plough which covers up the seeds. Modern day Ancient Egypt

Back then they used a scythe to slice the wheat and collect it with their hands (bet they had back ache once they finished). Harvesting Harvesting now is a lot easier than then because the combine harvester chops the wheat and collects the grain(wheat)and fires it into a trailer. Modern day Ancient Egypt

milling In them days they used a saddle quern(millstone)to grind the grain so they could put it in the bread. Ancient Egypt The grain is grinded down by stones then turned into flour.

The Egyptians baked their bread in the sun whereas we bake it in the oven

Thanks for watching
