2 Experiences and discoveries of youth unemployment in T&T. Statiscal evidence provided by central statiscal office of Trinidad and tobago A definition of Youth unemployment provided by the United nation: Youth unemployment rate is the proportion of youth labour force that is unemployed. Young people are defined as persons aged between 15&24 Youth labour market age range from 15-24. youth labour force for both sexes stands at 86,800 (2011) Number of youth umemployed for both sexes stand at 10,500 since (2011) It was sighted in the data that the majority of the youth population unemployed were woman. Government initiatives in combating youth unemployement The Government of trinidad and tobago at the beginning of 21 century implemented many programs Geared towards the eradication of youth unemployemt such as: Free primary, secondary and teritary education. The establishment of entrepenurial programs in assisting small buisnesses Vocational and technical programs with payed stipends. However many of these programs were short term and not geared towards creating sustainable development. Students of the unviersity of the west Indies st Augustine were asked questions about youth unemployment. Bothqualitative and quantitive research was used in obtainin information about youth unemployment T&T since the research topic required indepth research, when dealing with and issues of such magnitude. 3 Causes of Youth unemployment Lack of creativity and innovative ideas Create rather than procrastinate young persons need to create there own jobs rather than wait to be employed. Job creation Create systems that will faciliate more youth employment Availability of Jobs Make jobs available and easier for those with minimal education Diversification of economy. The government in collaboration with the private sector should embark on an economic diversification forum wherein, new and potentially viable industries can be provided Education Offer short term programs in the form of courses to allow the youths to gain more pratical knowledge of the work enviroment and also in more technical vocational fields. 4 Effects of Youth Unemployment in T&T Crime, Brain drain, Out Migration( U.S.A, England & Canada), underemployment. Discovery: Youth unemployment in T&T is of great concerns to individuals between the age 15-24 It was discovered that Primary, Secondary & tertiary Education is free in Trinidad and Tobago which is a terrific indicators towards achieving sustainable development in one’s country. However, there is a lack of job creation and job availability for young educated scholars seeking employment. Therefore, leading to crime, brain drain and out migration which in turn would have a negative impact on development and growth.

5 Is an organisation which seeks to assist young individual between the ages of 15-29 in developing and enhancing there ideas through collaborative programs which range from academia, technical and vocational. Through our programs we hope to train, enlighten and prepare young scholars in becoming not only marketable but able to create there own job market. Our goal an intivative is to create a Gobal village of young individuals ready to create rather than procastinate Develop entrepenurial spirit amongst members who participate in our programs To prepare, train and equip each individual for the world of work. 6 Stage (1) of the program(creating martable solution) begins with Educating indivduals: 1 In choosing the best career,based on individual educational background skills and expertise. 2 Assist individuals in widen there educational capacity to meet the demands of job markets. 3 Eduate and senitize individual about the market place. 4 eduate young persons not only to focus on mirco but a marco approach Stage (2) of the program ( creating marketable solutions) seeks to Prepare, ehance and equip individuals. 1 Assist young persons in developing there ideas and skills 2 Prepare internship programs with individuals and Organisation 3 Equip individuals about risk management for person seeking there own buisness 4 Ehance young persons marketing skills through the use of social networking in marketing there products and services 5 Provided certification at the end of the program Stage (3) of the program ( creating marketable solutions) Results 1 Better informed about the job market 2 marketable and well skilled for his/her employer 3 Equip to deal with difficulties within the organisation 4 Ready for the world of work 5 Is able to create rather than procastinate.

Individuals are able to participate both online and offline. Stage 1 Educate 3months Topics: Career day, Customer service & Business management Both online and offline are courses offered. At the end of this session students better informed and educated about these areas Stage (2) Prepare, enhance & equip 3-4months Topics introduce in this segment includes: Public and International Relations, marketing strategies and financial Analysis. Courses offered both online and offline At the end of this program individuals are better prepare for the world of word Stage (3) Results 3-4months Internship program with collaboration with government organisations, Ngo’s and IGo’s. This module of the course is only offered offline and it’s a fulltime or partime endevour that must be undertaken by each individual in order to complete the program successfully. At the end of this session students are both skilled and has the required experience necessary for the world of work Projection of the outcome of program Soltion

Therefore, the creation of new jobs and sector s with our economy since we will now have a large influx of innovators as oppose to static persons. Out comes of this program will have positive effects not only for individuals engaged in our program but my country of Trinidad and Tobago sinces it coporates creativity Planned results and outcomes of program
