6. 6 Brussels 16-17 October 2012 Sub-Theme 1– Development, agriculture and food security – Possible topics Added value of agricultural research and technology transfer; Promoting the role of public private partnership in agriculture; Role of food markets and trade; Secure and equitable access to land; Resilient and sustainable intensification; Addressing the needs of rural women.

8. 8 Brussels 16-17 October 2012 Sub-Theme 2 – Engaging the private sector for development - Objectives EDDs 2012 as forum for discussion of innovative models and new approaches to private-public collaboration; Stimulate discussion among private, public and civil society actors about their respective roles and collaboration in development

9. 9 Brussels 16-17 October 2012 Sub-Theme 2 – Engaging the private sector for development Possible topics for coverage in panels: Joint private-public action and dialogue for more effective economic policy making. New form of industrial policy for developing countries. Merits and limits of mobilizing private sector funding for development through blending of grants and loans. Role of the private sector in transition to a green economy Inclusive business models for improving the conditions of households and workers at the "base of the pyramid".
