Anger Everyone deals with anger at some point It is important that when you experience anger, it is dealt with in a health way
Hostility- Negative Effects Definition: The intentional use of unfriendly or nasty behavior Can affect not only others but can also affect your own health Those who are constantly hostile are 4-7 times more likely to develop heart disease Silent “seethers” are more like to die early then those who are even openly hostile
Dealing with Emotions Look below surface of problem See if the problem will matter tomorrow, next week or next year Do not take action with strong emotion until you have had time to think about it Remember, feelings are feelings; not facts Strong feelings can be used as a sign. Think about those feelings
Continued… Use positive feelings to inspire you. Use upset feelings to motivate you Remember your not alone, everyone has strong feelings If the feeling doesn’t go away, seek help from a parent, a trusted person, or a professional

Managing Anger Re-channel your anger Get away by yourself, or even cry. Anger is often mistaken for sadness Talk to a close friend about the problem Write down what you are feeling and why. You don’t need to show anyone. Count to 10 and try to relax
Anger Clear the air of anger in a healthy way. Do not bring anger around with you. There are many things that affect anger including environment. Understand that not everyone deals with anger the same way. Everyone can learn healthy ways to express your feelings and deal with anger.
