5 Technical Standards Board The SAE Technical Standards Board is the largest developer of technical standards for land, sea, air and space. Industry, government and the public are served by standards that are used for design, manufacturing, testing, quality control and procurement. Consists of 15,698 volunteers Committees - 683 – 505 Ground Vehicle + 178 Aerospace Key Companies – OEM’s, Suppliers, Government, Industry, Academia Published Documents – 8709 – 2036 Ground Vehicle + 6673 Aerospace Additional standards information

6 Duties Standards Committee Member Chairperson – Vice-Chairperson - Secretary - Document Sponsor - Committee Member -

7 Qualifications Standards Committee Member Expertise in the technology of the specific committee, understanding of the role and use of standards, good communication skills, is willing to work towards consensus agreements.

8 Time Commitment Standards Committee Member Commitment varies based committee Members are asked to: – Attend face-to-face & teleconference meetings – Provide input into the development of standards between meetings – Respond to document ballots throughout the year
