3 Geographical Position And Location Natural And Geographical Features Croatia is situated on the cross–roads between Central Europe and the Mediterranean — 1185 islands — coastline of 4,058 km — mainland coast of 1777 km 783 km — largest island are Krk and Cres

4 Relief — a considerable part of Croatia lies at an altitude of over 500 m, but there are no mountains higher than 2000 m

5 Rivers — Sava — Drava — Danube — Mirna — Rasa — Zrmanja — Krka — Vrana — Plitvice — Red and Blue — Prokljan — Peruca and Lakes

6 Culture And Religion — belonging to the Middle– European and Mediterranean cultural and civilisation circle and tradition — Porec, Rovinj, Pula, Zadar, Sibenik, Hvar, Korcula and Ston, with Split (Diocletian's Palace) and Dubrovnik representing a part of the world cultural heritage under UNESCO protection — Croats are overwhelmingly Roman Catholic
