3 Tablet Clarifications: PARCC will support tablets… Supporting full sized iPads - version 2 or later with iOS6.x installed (Guided Access Also supporting Android, Chrome, or Windows tablets configured to meet security guidelines. PARCC is committed to being device agnostic. We want students to be able to use the same technology for assessment that they regularly use for instruction. However, there is a screen size minimum (9.5 inch or larger) to ensure that items display consistently. The 7-9 inch class tablets (iPad Mini, Nooks, Kindles) will not be supported for 2014-2015. While keyboards are being strongly recommended and research is being done to determine if keyboards will be required for tablets to ensure fairness to students when producing content. There is no definitive research on the student use of tablet devices either for instruction or for assessment. 3
