Mission Statement “FedEx will produce superior financial returns for shareowners by providing high value-added supply chain, transportation, business and related information services through focused operating companies competing collectively, and managed collaboratively, under the respected FedEx brand.”

FedEx Trading History FedEx originated in 1913 by C.J. Tower & Sons in Niagara Falls, N.Y. McGraw-Hill purchased FedEx in 1986. C.J. Tower & Sons became Tower Group International Inc.

Growth throughout time
FedEx did not establish a profit until July 1975. FedEx played a key role in preventing air cargo deregulation. FedEx began to see profits in the mid 1980’s. FedEx was the first company to reach a $1 billion dollar revenue within ten years of forming the company.

First done by FedEx First company to offer overnight delivery.
First to offer next day delivery. First to make deliveries on Saturday. First company to be able to offer an exact time for freight delivery. First company to offer a refund.

FedEx History In 1994 Federal Express shortened its company name to FedEx. In 2000 the company changed the name once more to FedEx Express. In 1990 FedEx was the first company to win the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Today FedEx ships more than 2.4 million packages a day.

FedEx History The company was formed in 1971 and opened for business on April 17, 1971. The company used 14 small planes to transport packages to the Memphis airport. That night they delivered 186 packages to about 25 cities.

Current Event In the year 2004 FedEx has made over $25 billion through Anchorage Hub. FedEx has increased its business in China over 50% in the past year. FedEx’s stock has doubled in the last year because of the large Asian market FedEx is one of the leading competitors in transporting Asian Cargo.

Current Event The main concern FedEx faced in 2001 was expanding its company. In 2001 after UPS purchased Mail Box Etc., FedEx decided to purchase Kinko's. FedEx has sent its employees to over 700,000 hours of training Kinko's staff. FedEx hopes this new campaign will be worth the $20 million spent to revamp this company.
