2.  Paul Jackson Pollock later to be known as Jackson Pollock was born on January 28 th 1912 in Cody, Wyoming. He was an influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. During his lifetime, Pollock enjoyed considerable fame and notoriety. He was regarded as a mostly reclusive artist. He was the youngest in a family of five. His two parents were Stella May McClure and LeRoy Pollock. In 1930 him and his brother Charles Pollock moved to New York were they studied at the art students league of New York. Here he was taught by Thomas Hart Benton from whom he got some on his inspiration to do his art. Jackson Pollock latter got married to lee Krasner another artist and both produced art in a cottage. Jackson Pollock used paint to create many lines and shapes of different colors. In 1938 he began to go to a psychiatrist for his alcoholic problems. On August 11 th 1956 he crashed his convertible car on the road while drunk and died.
