The Amazon rainforest is the largest tropical rainforest in the world, covering over five and a half a million square kilometres. and is home to around 2 and a half million different insect species as well as over 40000 plant species.

In the rain forest there are lots of plants they will grow everywhere except cliffs. The rainforest is covered with vegetation of some sort and also hills and valleys are covered in trees and plants. This is a ginger lily one of the many species of plants.

If we do not stop cutting down the rainforest trees by the year 2060 they will all be gone which means less oxygen. Nearly half of the world's species of plants and animals will be destroyed or severely threatened over the next 25 years due to rainforest deforestation. This Indian tiger’s leg got crushed by a falling down tree caused from deforestation

Around 50 million native people depend on the rain forest which means if we keep on cutting down the trees they will have no where to go and they will not have any shelter and the animals will die so they can’t get any food.

If we keep on cutting down the trees it will decrease the biodiversity which means less living things which will disrupt the food chain which could lead to animals, birds and insects dying. If there are no trees left the soil in the rainforests will get washed away so if they decide to plant more trees or crops the soil will be rubbish for it
