3 1.b. Make Inferences  Why might many Mongolians be proud of their country’s history?  1.b. 700 years ago Mongolia was a great world power and their empire stretched from the Danube River in Austria to the Pacific Ocean.

4 1.c. Elaborates  Why does Mongolia’s culture praise horses?  1.c. Horses are an important part of herding and herding is an important part of Mongolian Culture.

6 2.b. Summarize  What is the significance of Chiang Kai-shek in Taiwan’s history  2.b. Chiang Kai-shek was the ruler of China and fled after the communist took control of China and for 38 years the Nationalist Party led by him ruled Taiwan under martial law.

7 2.c. Evaluate  Would you rather live in Taiwan or Mongolia? Provide information about each place to explain your answer.  2.c. I would like to live in Mongolia I like the terrain and the history of Mongolia is legendary. Taiwan is just an Island and its too crowded
