The fishing industries are located around Alaska, and the States and providences located near the Atlantic Coast area. Then most of the Oil and Natural Gas resources are located in the middle of the United States and Canada in the interior areas. The Timber is located though out the entire United States and Canada all scattered out Alberta in Canada has a major reserve in coal. Some other coal sources are located mainly in the United States. The other resources are spread out though the United States and lower Canada. Not many resources are locates near the top of Canada

As you can see by the maps, the main percentage of the United States population are living in the Northeastern part of the United States. In these areas are where some of the United States main fishing ports are, and is also where the Appala- chian Highlands are located. These places are where the United States super cities are built.

As you can see by looking at the maps most of Canada's population is located near the border of the United States, because of the cold temps. Also most of Canada's natural resources are located near the border of the United States. By looking at the maps you can see that because Canada is located so close to the Arctic Circle, Canada's temps. in the farther North half are a lot colder.

Physical: One of the main physical features shared by the United states and Canada is the Appalachian Highlands, which have the Appalachian Mountains in it. They run North to South and extend over 1,600 miles from Newfoundland to Alabama. Another main mountain range shared by the United States and Canada is the Rocky Mountains. They stretch 3,000 miles to Alaska and New Mexico. Some of their peaks stretch to 12,000 feet above sea level. It has the Continental Divide, which is where the mountains separates the rivers flowing eastward from the other rivers flowing westward. Canada and the United States also share the Interior Lowlands, which are made up of the Canadian Shield, the Great Plains, and the Interior Plains. The Interior Lowlands are mostly made up of relatively low areas, hence the name lowlands. The area stretches all the way from the top of Mexico to the top of Canada.

Since Alaska and Canada are located in the same cold temperature areas they share the same cold climate zones such as Tundra. These areas have long cold bitter winters, with short summers ranging in the temperatures of only 40 degrees. Near the borders of the United States and Canada come the more moderate temperatures at which are located through out the United States. These areas have the Humid Continental climate zones, which have cold winters and warm summers. The Canadians tend to live closer to the United states due to its warm temperatures. Since the climate is so cold up there many Canadians can get frost bite and not be able to travel anywhere. The cold climates seems to push the more advanced of Canadians to live closer to us, but some of the Native people live through out the cold temperature areas and thrive.

The Canadians have moved and settled closer to us for the same reason why you turn on a fire place. THEIR COLD!!!!!They are basically at the top of the world where sometimes the sun doesn't shine for 6 MONTHS!!! In some areas they have permafrost because they never reach temperatures above freezing. Another reason why the main population is on the border is because it gives them easier access to trade with the rest of North America. Lastly most of their main Natural resources are locate on the border of the U.S and Canada.

One of the main reasons why Americans live in the Northeastern part of the United States is because most big cities need a constant water supply and active ways of transportation. Such as the Boston Harbor, which is located in that area. Another reason why people pick these areas are the physical features. Like if there is an area of land covered in hills, that probably wont be the next New York of the U.S. Lastly the climate. A lot of major cities are built around this factor, some places don’t want it too cold or too hot so they pin point areas where the location fits all the needs to start a strong foundation for a super city. Also some cities are based off of tourism so they don’t want a place that is too cold or too hot for the foreigners. That is why super cities like New York and Beverly Hills are located where they are.

Although in both countries they are multicultural they have primary languages that separate the two countries. The two Canadian primary languages are French and English. In the United States the two primary are English and Spanish. In the U.S. the main religion is Christianity and in Canada they have Catholics and Protestants. The Canadians had a problem with the country fighting over the religion, because the English were largely Protestants and the French were Catholic.

As like any country, in Canada they have a set of goals or activities that every Canadian kid experiences in there life. Like hockey; hockey if a sport played most by Canadians. One reason is its so cold! Also they normally get married at the age of 18 without a written constitution. Then the kids attend a private preschool between the ages of 3 to 4 In the United States one thing you can expect to play and watch is football and people get married when they want WITH a written constitution. Also they don’t go to a private preschool they can just simply go to a regular one.

Since Canada and the United States growth is always in motion it can lead to problems. Such as not having things planned out and having things turn into an Urban Sprawl. In both countries they are having the same problem. The amount of population in the cities are decreasing and the population in the urban areas are increasing Another problem with this growth is that the roads are becoming filled with drivers which makes roads have to be repaired and that isn't free, and can lead to more pollution in the little small towns.

In the two countries they all have different ways of getting around, but most of the time that is effected by what location they are in. As you have already heard, its cold in Canada so they cant ride there bike or walk to school. Instead they use dog sledges, automobiles and snow mobiles. In the United States we use just about everything, trains, planes, you name it Just like us they use some of the same technology to stay in touch with their loved ones. It just might be a couple years behind our growth in technology.

Physical aspects are really what affect what we do in our life's. They affect how we dress, eat, culture, and looks. Although it can affect us we can change that by moving to a different place and even then we can still change around physical features by adding our own human touch. For and Example : getting a air conditioning unit would be an controlling how you are affected by the physical features of your home.
