Table of Contents  Project Objective  Design Task  Design Approach  Working Drawings  Prototype  Cost Analysis

Project Objective  Design the “ceiling system” that will be over your heads about 10 years from now. Think about how to make that space over your heads more valuable, more useful, more functional to the target market. What “problems” could this overhead plane solve?

Design Task  Mission Statement The objective of “The Ceiling of 2017” Final Design Project is to design and build an attractive, yet efficient prototype of a ceiling for an indoor hotel swimming pool.

Design Approach  Gantt Chart Design Project #2: Armstrong Ceiling Project 3/26/200 7 4/2/200 7 4/9/200 7 4/16/200 7 4/23/200 7 4/30/200 7 Gathering Information Customer Needs Assessment Brainstorming Design Matrix Construct Working Drawings Prototype Design Analysis Finalize Design Documentation Presentation

Design Approach  Customer Needs Assessment The Armstrong Corporation is looking for an innovative ceiling to be put to use in the year 2017. The design’s purpose is to be more functional or valuable to the current market in some way other than the current ceilings over our heads. The customer would like a ceiling that is appealing and profitable to be sold to its clients.
