2. Why I Went to the Czech Republic I won a contest! I went to my dad’s work for bring your child to work day. They had a raffle contest. The main prize was a trip to the Czech Republic. I won! I got to go to four cities.

5. The First City The first city I visited was Prague. Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic. Prague was founded in the Renaissance era. There are many tourist attractions such as, the Prague Castle, the Lennon Bridge, and the Old Town Square.

6. The Next City: Ostrava The second city I visited was Ostrava. Ostrava is the second largest city. Ostrava is near many rivers one of them is the Opava River.

7. The Third City: Brno The third city I went to was Brno. It is a South- Moravian city. Brno has about 454,337. Some churches in Brno are Roman Catholic, but most of them are Protestant.

8. The Fourth City: Liberec The fourth city I visited Liberec. The population of 105,229. Liberec us the fifth- largest city in the Czech Republic. Liberec was settled by German and Flemish migrants.

9. Famous People The first famous person I learned about was Emil Orlik. He was born in 1870, in Prague. Most of his famous painting are Japanese art. The next famous person I learned about was Josef Byrks. He was born is 1916. He was a World War 2 fighter pilot. He was captured four times he tried to escape and succeeded three times, but he was finally caught.

11. Famous People… Continued The third and last person I learned about was Frank Plicka. He was born in 1926 and died in 2010. He was a photographer. He made a tour around Sydney.

15. My Conclusion Unfortunately, my trip had to come to an end. I saw a lot of cool things such as the Prague Castle. I learned about many famous people. I’ll go back to the Czech Republic, but for now I will stay in Michigan.
