Currently about 45 full-time graduate students About half are from U.S., China 9, Libya 8, Saudi Arabia 3 and one each from Iran, Turkey, Ukraine

Undergraduate program Undergraduate program 39 credit hours of course work Three semesters of calculus, linear algebra, introduction to abstract mathematics (18) Computation, probability/statistics (6) Choices from among algebra, topology, real analysis, differential equations, discrete mathematics, complex variables (9) Other electives (6) Comparison with Jazan BSc programJazan BSc program

Programs: M.S. program requires about 30 credits past bachelor’s degree Ph.D. program requires about 24 credits past M.S. degree (exclusive of research hours) Estimated time to completion: M.S. 2 years Ph.D.4-5 years Important exams: 1) Twice-yearly exams given in Algebra, Analysis, Topology, Differential Equations, at the Masters level. These serve as exit exams for the main M.S. options, and as the Ph.D. entrance exam. Students must achieve an appropriate pass level on two of these exams. 2) For Ph.D. students, the Qualifying Exam is generally taken in the third year of study, after the major area course work is complete. Recent courses offered: https://star.wvu.edu/pls/starprod/bwckschd.p_disp_dyn_sched Course descriptions: http://math.wvu.edu/courses-view Ph.D. entrance exam https://star.wvu.edu/pls/starprod/bwckschd.p_disp_dyn_schedhttp://math.wvu.edu/courses-view

Application for admission Beginning either degree program in the fall is highly preferable Apply through the online portal: http://grad.wvu.edu Send official copies of documents to the Admissions Office Recommendations can be submitted online If you need advice, email me scanned copies To fully process an application and obtain student visa ~ 3 monthshttp://grad.wvu.edu

Entrance requirements: For M.S. standard undergraduate mathematics program is fine At least Three semesters calculus Linear algebra Differential Equations Real Analysis Algebra are the preferred prerequisites. For Ph.D. a masters degree in mathematics (or its equivalent) is required.
