3 XP Sharing Files and Collaborating Online The cloud is a powerful computer server on the internet giving you the capability to: – Store and share files – Access data, applications and resources from any device that has internet access SkyDrive is free storage provided in the could by Microsoft. – SkyDrive is like having a personal hard drive in the cloud. 4 XP Overview of Office 365 and Office on Demand Office 365 is a subscription to Microsoft cloud services. – There are plans for home and business users. – Pricing and installation options differ for each plan. – Office on Demand is a benefit of some Office 365 subscription plans allowing you to access Office programs from any computer. – To subscribe to Office 365, you need a Microsoft account. 5 XP Microsoft Accounts A Microsoft account is a free account you can create that associates your email address and a password with Microsoft cloud services. You may already have an account if you have one of the following: – a subscription to Office 365 – a Hotmail or live.com email account – a SkyDrive account or an Xbox account – a Windows Phone or a windows 8 user account New Perspectives on Microsoft Office 20135
