16. When will you compete? Your first taste of competition will be in your local area (district, region) in the late fall. If you do well at the local competition, you can move on to the state/ provincial competition, usually after the turn of the calendar year. Those who place highest then move on to the International Career Develop- ment Conference in Anaheim, Calif.; Orlando, Fla.; or another major city in late April.
