Art History The study of works of art: their production and reception, the museums and other institutions that support them, their role in society, the meanings and values they carry, from the Renaissance to contemporary art Visual Culture The study of visual media in different cultural contexts: the role played by visual objects and visually-orientated activities, from elite to popular culture and from antiquity to today’s media-saturated world What will you study?

3. How your degree is structured The degree is divided into core and optional modules, giving you the flexibility to structure your studies according to your interests. Individual modules are worth 15 or 30 credits each, and full-time undergraduates will take 120 credits in each year. Within Art History and Visual Culture, in addition to core modules, you can choose from a variety of optional modules.
