7 ‘A Junction Subject’ It is a ‘junction’ subject incorporating many different disciplines Fun, fascinating, conflict of ideas – everyone likes a good argument!

8 PAIS at Warwick One of the largest Politics departments in the UK – 50 members of academic staff plus post-doctoral fellows Interacting with academics considered leaders in their field Wide range of modules on offer – personalise degree to suit interests and career goals (choice and flexibility) And a wide range of teaching methods

10 Research in PAIS All academics are research active 60% of our research was deemed ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in 2008 Research Assessment Exercise; UK Rank in Politics - 7 th Expected to move into the top 5 Undergraduate teaching by full-time faculty members (research-led teaching)

15 PAIS Core Degree Structures Second Year Politics: Political Theory From Hobbes Core Issues in Comparative Politics 2 Option Modules Politics with International Studies: Political Theory From Hobbes Theories of International Relations 2 Option Modules

16 PAIS Core Degree Structures Third Year (Both Pathways) Issues in Political Theory 3 Option Modules (can include Dissertation) See web-pages for other degree structures Average contact teaching hours – 12 hours per week (1 st year); 11 hours (2 nd and 3 rd year)
