10 Materials Science and Engineering Hearts & Minds

11 Materials Science and Engineering Insightful Comments On plant tour… – It was so interesting and made me think about checking out the steel industry. – It was a lot of fun, and the guides I had all seemed really excited about working there. – I personally did not like the mills but that does not mean the tour was not good. On leadership experience… – Very great experience! Walked away with valuable knowledge that I can use in any leadership situation! Great way to build engineers and I wish that university offered this program on campus. – It was pretty good, it was more figuring out what type of leader you are than how to be a better one, but I suppose you need to know yourself before you can make any changes. – I thought the training was well done but possible a bit slow toward the end. Perspective… – Without this experience, I would have never known that the steel industry isn't the right fit for me, so I found it a very valuable experience even though I didn't particularly enjoy the tour itself. Thank you Arcelor Mittal for your generosity and professionalism.

12 Materials Science and Engineering A Career in the Steel Industry? I did not know too much about the Steel industry before this trip. After seeing the plant and learning about the new type of metal they made to reduce car gas mileage I'm very interested in being apart of that. I didn't know anything really before the tour, but knowing how much they are contributing to moving forward, and are making breakthroughs in types of steel, makes me consider them just to be able to say I was part of making something new, that makes the world better. I would consider working for ArcelorMittal because they are working toward efficiency and very strong yet lightweight materials. I also felt like all of the employees knew that they played an important role in the industry and that they all worked and treated each other as a family, including workers overseas.
