2 Eagles live in North America and the Menominee Indian Reservation.

3 Eagles fly high in the sky.

4 Male and female eagles build nests together.

5 Eagle nests are built in large trees.

6 Eagles can lay one to three eggs.

7 Baby eagles are called eaglets or chicks.

8 Young eagles do not look like their parents until 4 or 5 years of age.

9 Eagles primarily eat fish.

10 Eagles can see fish from several hundred feet.

11 Eagles also eat dead animals.

12 Eagles weigh from ten to fourteen pounds.

13 An eagle’s wing span can range from 72 to 90 inches.

14 Eagles can reach speeds of about 30 to 35 miles per hour.

15 The tail is important for flight and maneuvering.

16 Their beak, talons, and feathers are made of keratin.

17 Eagles have 7,000 feathers.

18 Eagles are a protected bird.

19 Biography My name is Beth Schultz. I am a student at the College of Menominee Nation pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I have two sons who love the outdoors and all the animals they come across. I find the Bald Eagle to be a very fascinating bird and I was happy to have the opportunity to put this book together for you.
