2 Climate Change Adaptation What is climate change adaptation? Adjustment in natural or human systems to a new or changing environment that exploits beneficial opportunities or moderates negative effects

8 Conclusions First compendium of adaptation actions financed through three Global Environment Facility funds. 10 types of 158 adaptation activities were identified through an analysis of 92 projects in 70 countries. Results show that early ideas of climate adaptation theoreticians are consistent with results from the field. This typology serves to provide insight into what exactly adaptation is in practical terms. The typology is a beginning for furthering harmonization between theory and practice.
